THOMAS BLUG
Thomas Blug
'The Beauty of Simplicity' und das aktuellere Meisterstück 'Electric Gallery'.
(Scales 1999/96/Single '93), 'The beauty of simplicity' (Scales 1999/94), 'Hart an der Grenze' (O.S.T.) (Scales 1999/1996), 'Electric Gallery' (Scales 1999/97)
Thomas Blug
Many may have seen him, but even more will have heard him. The sympathetic young German (born 4/66) is a sought after cat in the german and international music scene for quite some years. He is responsible for some jingles (f.e. the top german sports show 'Das Aktuelle Sportstudio' (ZDF) ), film- and tv-serial- soundtracks (see 'Die Oase' (The oasis), a big city eco-thriller, 'Hart an der Grenze'(On the edge), both by SR/ARD) .
He as well played on other's compositions-like british composer's David Dundas. Live and in the studio he played with international greats like Percy Sledge or Hazel O'Connor, german acts like Purple Schulz, actor/rocksinger Uwe Ochsenknecht, The Rainbirds, Pop nerwcomers like Planet Claire or Germany's No.1 female Rappers Tic Tac Toe. On their successful last tour Thomas had the possibility to play some of his own stuff to their younger but surprisingly enthusiastic audience. The songs had been from his cds 'The beauty of simplicity' and the actual masterpiece 'Electric gallery', recorded with some ace players around like Raoul Walton (bass /Westernhagen) and sax man Rick Keller. Premier class instrumental melodic but powerful mainstream rock: poppy catchy melodies meet here the typical rounchy bluesy rocking sound of Thomas Stratocaster. And sound is an other working field of Thomas that brought him around internationally. Since
the late 80s he is working as sound designer and worldwide performer on music fairs from Frankfurt to L.A. and inbetween for the amp company Hughes & Kettner (demo-cd 'Triamped' H&K 1995). -Besides that he has out an also instrumental pro-user-only cd named 'Living Guitars' on Selected Sound (1996) and a german vocal rock cdcalled 'Dreist'. Powerful melodic instrumental mainstream rock with typical strat sound, sometimes heavier and bluesy sometimes more into pop, with catchy melodies...
'Die Oase' (O.S.T.) (Scales 1999/96/Single '93), 'The beauty of simplicity' (Scales 1999/94), 'Hart an der Grenze' (O.S.T.) (Scales 1999/96), 'Electric gallery' (Scales 1999/97)
